Digital Forensics Justice Initiative

After spending twenty-five years in digital forensics, with 90% of my time working for public defenders and private defense attorneys, I felt it was time to give back. I believe and have always believed that there is a great disparity in our justice system when it comes to digital evidence.

A person accused of a crime can only muster what defense they can afford or that the government will provide. I am thankful that we live in a country that provides indigent defense resources to defendants, but some states and some judges arbitrarily limit the quality and quantity of the expert resources an attorney is allowed to hire. The fact is, there is great variability in the quality of experts available to hire.

What I aim to do through the DFJI is to provide CLE training to public defenders, federal, state, and local.

I will be providing the highest quality training I can based on my extensive experience both as an expert and as a trainer and educator.

Since I am working for this non-profit, I am vendor-neutral and will not be attempting to sell you anything or persuade you to hire one of “my experts,” since I don’t have any.

How can you help me help you?

  1. Spread the word to public defenders and ask them to contact me to arrange training.

  2. Go to DFJI.org and sign up for the newsletter.

  3. Let me know what training you could use that would be most helpful to you.

Meanwhile, I will be designing all new content and classes on digital forensics topics that would be useful to you. If you would like to do a deep dive course, I would be happy to provide one. On-site training or remote training will all be available.

I am working on my schedule for the next 12 to 18 months. So let’s connect and get some training scheduled.

If you want to contribute financially, that would be a blessing.

    More to come soon….
